A TEAM CHALLENGE FOR CHILDREN IN 24-HOUR CARE

The 24 Hour Treadmill Challenge is a team event like no other! Held in a giant marquee on the front lawn of Very Special Kids, the event will bring over 1,300 participants together to raise funds for children in 24 hour care at Very Special Kids Hospice.

Motivated by DJs, MCs and celebrity appearances, teams of walkers and runners work together to keep the Precor treadmills in continuous motion for 24 hours. The activity doesn’t stop overnight with entertainment continuing from sunset to sunrise.

Only metres away from the Precor treadmills is Very Special Kids Hospice, providing specialised 24 hour care for children with life-threatening conditions. The hospice offers planned and emergency respite, giving families the opportunity to have a break from the demands of caring for a sick child and to spend time with their siblings. The hospice also gives families a place where their child can receive end-of-life care in peaceful surroundings.

It costs $9.1 million to operate Very Special Kids and we rely heavily on the generous support of the community to continue to offer services to families free of charge.

There are two ways to get involved…

  • Book a treadmill for the whole 24 hours and fill it with up to 48 colleagues, friends and family who will participate and fundraise towards the team goal
  • For smaller groups or individuals, book time on a shared treadmill to share amongst your crew. This is a great way to be involved as a smaller team and get a taste for the event.
